Graduation

Chan Center

It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that his/her degree requirements are met. Students must have a good academic standing at both institutions to graduate: a CGPA of at least 2.00 (63%) over all courses taken at UNBC and an average of at least 55%, and passing grades in at least 65% of the credits taken, at UBC. The diploma will carry crests from both granting institutions (UNBC and UBC).

Upon graduation, students will receive a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Environmental Engineering. The program is designed to meet accreditation criteria of the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. Graduates will be eligible for registration as Professional Engineers (P.Eng.) and have access to engineering career opportunities.

Applying to Graduate:

In order for students to graduate, they are required to apply to both UBC and UNBC for graduation. The deadline for applications is different for both universities.

For UNBC, please submit your application through your Student Online Services account by late October and contact the UNBC Advisor if you need assistance. The Convocation Office will be contacting you at your UNBC email address to confirm your information as well as your attendance to the graduation ceremony. Please be sure to respond by the deadline stated.  More information on UNBC’s convocation can be found at: www.unbc.ca/convocation.  If you haven’t received anything by early March, please contact UNBC directly to follow up.

For UBC, students are required to apply for graduation through the Student Service Center (SSC). The application usually opens in December with a deadline usually in February (check for your year’s specific application period here).  More information regarding graduation at UBC can be found at: http://graduation.ubc.ca/
