Co-operative Education

Co-operative education is available to UNBC/UBC Environmental Engineering students through UBC Engineering Co-op. The UBC Engineering Co-op Program formally integrates a student’s academic studies with valuable, relevant, paid technical engineering paid work with approved industry organizations. As a Co-op student you will be well prepared professionally for your future career as an engineer. Environmental Engineering Co-op students work in a variety of areas including consulting firms, industrial plants/mills, and federal, provincial and municipal government offices.

Get to Know UBC

If you are here at UBC for the first time, it's not easy trying familiarize yourself with campus and UBC student life--especially since you are not a 1st year student. Below are a few websites that you may want to explore to help you familiarize yourself with all the UBC has to offer, as well as direct you to other helpful resources.

1. http://www.students.ubc.ca/newtoubc/

This is a great place to start. Although this website is geared towards 1st year students, it is still general enough to be helpful to all kinds of students who are new to UBC.

2. http://www.students.ubc.ca/newtoubc/orientations.cfm?page=transfermature

This is a website for transfer and mature students who are new to UBC. This website is for students like yourself and all of the resources and information are specifically for you. Its all the benefits of orientation without the kiddy 'welcome to university you poor high school student' perspective. There is also a great 'Transfer and Mature Students Orientation' that is offered for free, so please register before the deadline during the last week of August!

3. http://www.ubc.ca/about/index.html

This is a general website about UBC and the UBC community. Its a bit more touristy and less academic, but it will help in terms of familiarizing you with the different facilities, administrative organizations, and services. There is also a link called 'About Vancouver' for those of you who are not from Vancouver.
